Well for once luck was on our side with our transport to Mui Ne from Ho Chi, the bus was on time and it was a sleeper bus, but not like the one we had in Laos with beds, this one had actual seperate chairs that reclined right back. We ended up on the back row...like usual, we aaaaalways get the back row! but it was ok because it meant we were right next to each other. It seems most of the long busses are these types of sleeper bus no matter what time of day, so hopefully we will have said bye bye to the mini buses for a while, fingers crossed!
Mui Ne is a beach resort and we quickly realised its not a very back packer friendly place, lots of big expensive hotels and fancy restaurants. We got lucky though as the bus pulled up right outside a hotel that had a really good room with aircon at an ok price, so that saved us the long hot walk around looking for somehere.
Mui Ne beach is also known as windy beach and its not hard to tell why, its like it is blowing a constant gale, the beach itself isnt a sunbath and relax beach its a watersport lovers paradise! kite surfing is a really big thing here, we found a bar on the beach where you could sit and watch them, there are so many out there all the time, they look like birds, I think Damo would have given it a go but he is saving his pennies for some scuba diving in Thialand.
Just outside of Mui Ne are some sand dunes, they have red ones and white ones which are a little further away, we rented a scooter for the day and went to the white ones, we rented a sledge once we were there but it didnt work! we tramped all the way up to a really steep sand dune, sat on the sledge, got pushed to the edge and I didnt bugde an inch! I thought it may have been one too many pancakes so I got Damo on it and he didnt move either, well he kind of bumped himself down but it really wasnt working, so dissapointing. We had fun though jumping off dunes and taking pictures and videos, Damo managed to do a beautiful big star jump and split his shorts! so funny, he had to make sure he kept his legs closed when we went for lunch after...no one needs to see that! We would have stayed there a little longer but it was sooo super windy and the sand was constantly blowing at your legs, it was like getting a constant tattoo....ok well maybe not that bad but it was pretty sharp!
The next day and we were due to go to Nha Trang, our next stop on another day time sleeper bus t 1:30pm, we sat and waited from 12 and played some cards, I went for a walk to the shop to get some snacks for the bus and whilst in the shop I started getting this wierd pain in my tummy, it then got really bad, I just about managed to walk back to Damo where I had to get on the floor, I was in total agony, I wonderd if I needed to loo and had the traveller trots again but nope not that, it was litterally like no pain I have ever felt before, I was struggeling to breath and my voice was going all weird. Damo was wanting to call an ambulance but I didnt let him, I called mum (Sorry again for waking you up at 6am momma) and she ruled out anything serious, this was all happening just as our bus pulled up but there was no way in hell I could get on that bus. We had baught some buscopan cramps tablets from Ho Ci Minh for the next time I got ill so I took 2 of them and we managed to get our room back at our hotel. After about an hour of being scrunched in a ball the pain went away, almost as quick as it came on it dissapeared! so bloomin typical, typical that A it was me and not Damo and B that it happened just as our bus pulled up and went away again! So we are now sat in our room waiting for the next bus which isnt until 1:30am! We had to pay for a whole new ticket and another night in this room....gutted! Most painful, random and inconvienient hour ever!
Fingers crossed we actually make it on the bus toight, we will arrive in Nha Trang at 6:30am, just in time for breccy :)
