So we flew to Cape Town alongside the Platinum Stars, a random South African football team, and met Marlon and Renee! They were our hosts for the last four days of travelling!
We were welcomed and made very comfortable! The next day we took a trip down to the impact centre in Bridgetown. We met some of the guys who worked down there and were introduced to Kyle who was happy to take us round Victoria and Alfred Wharf. We browsed through the shops and stood to watch a live band play for a while. The next day we were asked to lead a brief message in the morning at the centre and then went on an adventure round the peninsula and out to Fish Hoek. We stopped to see some penguins on the rocks and strolled up and down the board walk. We carried on around the peninsula and after stopping off for fish and chips we made our way back to Cape Town for a BBQ and some swimming. After successfully turning Marlon's pool into a whirlpool with Jason and Kyle we went to bed exhausted but happy.
On our penultimate day we took on Table Mountain. Kyle, Angelo, Jason lead us up Table Mountain on foot. After an hour and a halfs climbing we reached the top and had a nice lunch. Filled with this great sense of achievent we carried on and after more walking could see Camps Bay in the distance. After spending a long time looking for a short cut and shimmying over a metal pipe we emerged onto the streets of Camps Bay. We got some liquid on board and went for a refreshing swim in the bay then waited to be picked up. On our final day of travelling were had a calm browse for some final Christmas gifts and packed our bags for the last time. The trip drew to an end and the flight home was both exciting and sad.
We landed in Heathrow buzzing and after asking a random lady on the bus to the terminal how old i was i got the answer I was looking for ("I think 22" she said, "Are you that guys younger brother?"). Anyway I had accomplished that aim of looking my actual age and Craig burst through passport control and delightfully exclaimed "I made it rround the world first". So that was it a happy, relieving and amusing end to a journey that contained 6 countries, 5 lost balls, 4 continents, 3 seasons, 2 mates and 1 goal - to get around the globe in one piece - and guess what? We've done it!
