Steve's Mini Adventure!
Traveled on a 13hr overnight bus journey from Hervey Bay to Airlie Beach before we embarked on our 3 day sailing trip around the Whitsunday Islands, that mark the beginning of the Great Barrier Reef. Spent the day chilling with a few beers before going out to watch the footie (Arg vs Ger) One wet tshirt competition and a few too many beers later Badger was caught by a bouncer as he fell off the table and passed out, whilst I was playing some fine stokes with the Gun and Moore! Borderd our yacht the next day and spent 3 awesome days sailing an ex racing Yacht around the beautiful islands! Watched the sunset and rise everyday, and had beers and a bbq watching the stars! Went snorkeling, saw some turtles, rays and many amazing fish. Arrived back from the trip looking forward too a big night on the gas, unfortunately I had to be up at 5am to go diving! Still had a few whilst badger dived around in the foam party! Got a lift 2hrs north to Ayr where you can dive the famous Yongala Wreck Dive. Its in the top 10 dives in the world and everyone reccomends it! What can I say, amazing! 3-4 metre Bull Shark which IS dangerous despite everyone saying he's ok, balls! Giant turtles, Sea snakes, Rays Groupers and more fish than u can ever imagine seeing! Because there's no coral for hundreds of miles around everything gets attracted too this one spot! Very surreal being in the middle of the ocean with nothing else around diving on the wreck! Still can't believe I've done it now! Off too Cairns!
