So i decided to hire a car and head to the far east. Far east Canada that is. And this spot is tiny which is just what I am after although the town has effectively shut down for the winter (and autumn apparently). golf course - closed, 2 restaurants open - although one shuts at 7pm. National park closed- sweet you can go in but no entry fee to pay.
I got lucky with some good weather so decided to hit the hiking trails despite warnings re local wildlife from a travel agent, a b & b owner, several parks signs and a mother. I felt reasonably comfortable thanks to my past experience walking alone on trails which may contain aggressive wildlife! This time I was alert, and to be fair alarmed, for bear, coyote and moose rather than crocodile. I must admit it did bring back a head of memories from the last time I did this, although this time I was equipped with an coyote repel kit (see picture).
Only spotted one moose and he didnt try to go me so all safe. Scenery was awesome though. Clear days, ocean views, mountain range right on the coast, autumn colours on the trees still.
