We were picked up at 7.40am to do a tour of the Argentinian side of the falls.
We joined a tour of mainly Columbians - we were the only English speaking. They were very friendly and we all tried hard to communicate.
After entering the park, two separate trolley trains take you to the top of the falls. A system of steel walkways over 1km long takes you over the river delta to the top of the falls - Devil's Throat. The water cascades over cliffs on three sides, down into the 'throat' - the river being in flood made it even more spectacular.
Walking back, we ran into a couple from home - live 20min from us. We actually did the Africa/Egypt together nearly 3 years ago - when I broke my ankle.
Catching the train back to the first station, we split from the group as they were doing a boat ride under the falls.
Firstly we did the top of the falls - to numerous to count, just a gobsmacking spectacle!!! Later we followed the trail to the base of the falls, where the thunderous roar of the water, the clouds of spray and the spectacle of the whole scene leave you lost for words . . .
We returned to the hotel for a shower and short rest, then off again to a buffet dinner and Folkloric Show on the Brazilian side of the border. The guide had to collect our passports and take them into control points for both Argentina and Brazil - only 2km apart - then the reverse on the way back.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening, but very tired, our Columbia friends from the day tour were also there.
