Hi all, just got back from the Bay of Islands and Cape Reigna which is the Northernmost point of NZ. We drove down the 90 mile beach (which is only62 miles) in a bus!!! The beach is slow sinking quicksand and one of the tour busses is underneath the beach cuz it sank. The best part though was sandboarding down the 85m dunes at the top of the beach. It was mental travelling at 20 mph with your nose just inches off the sand. I'm still finding sand in places I didn't know I had!!! on the Weds we went (supposedly) swimming with Dolphins. Didn't see one, not even a kipper. There were Orkas in the bay the day before and had scared all of them off. Saw some Longtail Stingray's up really close though because they were hiding in the sand in some of the Bays. The tour guide said that the Orkas love eating the Rays and they're like sweets to them, so they were hiding with bloody good reason! Anyway have a look at the pics and we've got tickets for U2 on
