SYDNEY AND AREA/BLUEMOUNTAINS
Hey there this is my first blog entry, and our first week of the travels. First week is up already and as I type this we're on a flight to Christchurch, New Zealand.
Sydney was pretty amazing for our first port of call we had a good hotel and had plenty to do. Visited nearly everything you possibly can in Sydney, except the tower which was expensive for was it was and we got the same view from the top of the Harbour Bridge which was an out of this world experience, and my second time... After climbing the 1,200 and something steps. We decided on a little break and visited a few beaches including Bondi and Palm, which is where Home n Away is filmed but not actually much there about the soup. The surf club is actually a kiosk selling drinks and not this full on cafe. However the beach is one of the best in the area one half hours outside of Sydney, it's quiet and chilled out. Manly is a short ferry trip away from Sydney and is nice with it's beach and shops n cafes etc like a little sea side town. Then you got Bondi, Blackpool all over... Full of tourist and all the typical cafes and shops you could ask for, lol.
Having a break from the beaches we went on a good trip out into the Blue mountains which included couple of stop offs including a wildlife park were we got to see Koalas and Roos close up. We were expecting to be able to hold the Koala bear but it wasn't to be. We'll try again in the Australia Zoo up near Brisbane when we get there. The mountains were spectacular, headed down into the valley on a train which went straight down the side of the mountain and then back up on the cable car. On way back to Sydney we stopped off at Wentworth falls which again was pretty good views. You'll be able to see some of the place as we've uploaded some pics for you to have a look at, otherwise this would be boring :-).
Well i'm going to leave it at that for know because there will loads more to write about as we travel round New Zealand.
