We are staying in an oasis in the middle of massive sand dunes. It's pretty cool. Our hotel has an outside pool and there are 3 talking parrots that live in the garden. Craig went sandboarding and Jenny has spent most of her time sunbathing / swimming / sleeping.

Went on a tiny plane across the desert to see the Nazca lines. These are massive markings in the desert that have been there for around 2000 years. There are many different figures like a monkey, spider, humming bird and condor. No one knows why they were made. Was amazing to see them. Felt really really sick though on the plane. It was quite terrifying when the pilot circled low for us to see the different symbols. Stayed in a nice hostel with little swimming ...

Just got back from a 2 day tour of the Colca Valley, deeper than the Grand Canyon. Swam in natural hot springs and saw some Andean condors at Cruz del Condor. They came very close and looked amazing.

Stopped here en route from Arica to Arequipa. Because of two hour time difference between Peru and Chile, we arrived half an hour before we set off! A bit of time to kill. Very hot - 36 degrees C.

Have spent today on a day trip around Lake Titicaca. Was lovely and sunny so spent a lot of the time sunbathing on the roof of the boat. Visited a few of the floating islands made of reeds and met the people that lived there. Then walked around tranquil island. There was a blackout in Puno when we got back so ate our dinner in the dark.
