I have miracously recovered after a good night´s sleep. So the blog should be more interesting today. 2 people from our group have had to cancel the trek due to altitude sickness so it wasn´t just me being a girl.
We had a tour of the Sacred Valley with our group today. We have a guide called Wilbert who knows all about the Incas. (At least we hope he does.) Have explored ruins and done a bit of walking. Drunk a lot of coca tea which is a local remedy for altutide sickness. The scenery is pretty amazing and we are having a great time. We have now arrived at a place called Ollantaytambo which is a rural town in the Andes next to a ruined, unfinished Inca sun temple.
We visited an Andean pub and had some beer made from maize which was pretty disgusting. We played the local pub game which was throwing gold coins and Craig was great at it - the only one to get a coin in the frog's mouth (which is a good thing). Typical. Too much time in pubs. And we saw lots of guinea pigs. We are hoping to get a chance to eat some soon.
We will try to get some photos up soon. Hopefully we will survive the trek.
