Went to Dachau, the first concentration camp. It served as the training center and framework for other concentration camps. The SS in charge of Auschwitz was trained in their "methods" here. It was a heavy day but a worthwhile experience. Our guide was great and really knew his history- he also helped bring some light to the situation.
We got to walk inside a gas chamber that they used at the camp and see the living situation during the third phase when things were becoming extremely overcrowded. A room that would originally fit 50 would house 500- it was hard to picture .. The museum in itself was very large and unfortunately we didn't have time to read all the info but I plan on buying the book when I return home.
Checked out Munich's massive train station- the area where we boarded our train to the camp looked like a large airport terminal.
And I finally stopped being my stubborn self and went to the doctor because it was getting pretty bad... Yep I have bronchitis. The health care here is fast- 45 minutes in and out 35 euro, and all the pills I got were 24 euro- pretty cheap I say when comparing it to Canada! Apparently they complain a lot here about the prices according to the pharmacist.
So tonight is an early night and I plan on sleeping in tomorrow. Then we need to do some much needed laundry ....
