Hello!
It's been a while since I last updated this blog...I think I am definetly taking to the 'Keywest Life!'
We flew into Miami just over a week ago and I think I can definetly say we experienced some sort of 'Culture shock!' (Not to mention the shock of flying into to sunny Miami to the song 'Jingle Bells' and 'White Christmas!' After seven weeks of living and travelling around Costa Rica, a country where life is simple, people have very little, the landscape is green and mountainous... to staying one night on South Beach in Miami where things looked and felt a lot different! Lot's of traffic (The Americans seem to drive everywhere!) bright lights, fast food, "bling", wealth...it couldn't have been more opposite! But, there were a few things that were welcomed...a hot shower, a proper bathroom and Chinese food! yum yum!
After one night in Miami we took the Greyhound to Keywest, a four hour drive and one of the most picturesque drives you could take. After leaving the mainland we drove over a number of different bridges (one seven miles long) over pristine blue ocean through the Keys and finally ending at the most southern point in the US, and only 90miles from Cuba...Keywest!!!
Josh and I are loving every minute of life in Keywest! It feels like home from home especially living with Josh's uncle and cousin; Phil and Luana. We have been riding our bikes around the island, chilling at the beach, Sea fishing (and actually catching fish!) witnessing some beautiful sunsets and eating some fantastic food...thanks to Phil! ...and so far, no hurricanes! Woohooo!
We only have a week or so left of our trip and already I miss my time in Costa Rica and the friends we made there. We had a great last day in Palmares, visiting Marita and Edgar, eating delicious cakes with them, stocking up on Coffee and enjoying our last evening 'Costa Rica' style! Looking forward to visiting them again!
Fingers crossed our final week here goes nice and slow! I think I am going to miss the sunshine! Josh and Phill are (at this moment) cooking up the fish Josh caught this afternoon (Snapper!) and tomorrow we will be experiencing our first American 'Thanks Giving!'

Hodgie Hi Jen & Josh - sounds like you are having a wonderful time; I can only think of pie at the moment - is it called KeyLime Pie or am I a million miles off ? Take care. Hodgie x
Philip Yes Hodgie..it would be Key Lime Pie. I have a great recipe, it is not hard to make.
