Jennifer's Adventure
Hi, have left Cambodia feeling very sad, it was a wonderful time soon to repeated. I will miss all the staff, families and children I have worked and associated with. A nine hour bus journey took me to Bangkok with 2 hrs at the border crossing, but it saved me a lotof money and I was able to see so much more countryside. The difference between Thailand and Cambodia is amazing, both in countryside, wealth, types of homes etc. Today we have flown to N. Thailand and the drove two and a half hours to the Laos border, beautiful scenery and for the first time for ages have seen high ground. Rice is being harvested so there are many trucks, trailors etc moving it about and in places machines like small combines are going the work. We have crossed the R Mekong ,which is the border, in a long tailed boat and are now relaxing in the very small town of ???? tell you later, I can't spell it! The group of 12 seem very pleasant. Everyone is saying how hot it is but for us locals it is cool, and at night even I am beginning to feel chilly! Yet it is still in the mid 80's and over night is not much less. The poor kids I taught were really cold on Fri and have no extra clothes or blankets to help keep them warm. I think we have got a very hectic schedule so will be exhausted by end. Will contact again if I can, but there doesn't seem to be as much internet here as yet, I'm in a cafe now. Take care and love to all, J
