Again writting in retrospect. After returning to La PAz after Salar de Uyuni, I took a flight to Buenos Aires. Even though BA is not too far from La Paz via plane, it took me a whole day to travel there with a change in between at Santa Cruz. It was strange to feel the humidity and heat in Santa Cuz compared to a very cold La Paz that I had just left that morning. I had to take off the alpaca sweater (jumper!) as I could feel the beads of sweat departing from my forehead. When I arrived in Buenos Aires, again a very hot place compared to Bolivia I took a long taxi ride to the hostel. Buenos Aires, well what can I say. So different from all the places I had visited in South America. Here was a large, extremely cosmopolitan and trendy city with yellow traffic lights, posh cars, big shopping malls and lots off people. The road just across from the hostel had 24 lanes to contend with. Every time I wanted to cross the street it was a bit of a hassle just to get from one side to the other.
On my first day there, I headed for La Boca (literally means the mouth). A area with a couple of treets filled with art stalls and shops, restaurants and live tango to entertain you galore! There was a very European, if not Italian/Spanish feel about that place.
