What a day!..,, Full!.... Started the day at 8 for the public bus to Hoi An from Hue. Expected it to be a slog but it flew by, good laughs and beautiful scenery, well, many derelict houses, sounds bad but looked good.... We had a stop half way, essentially Vietnam services... On the coast too, so headed for the beach and took some amazing photos of the sea mountains and beach, looked ace. We arrived in Hoi An around midday, we checked into our new rooms and headed for the arranged walking city tour. We enjoyed some authentic Vietnamese food, again, where you build your own spring rolls! This was meant to be the best in Vietnam,... Twas great but built up faaaarrrr too much...... We then went onto the history side of the city tour and we both loved learning the history of the town and both agreed that this was our favourite city in Vietnam so far.. It oozed class and culture, cleaner and quieter then both Hanoi and Hue.. We visited a few temples, an ancient Chinese bridge and an 800 year old house that has been flooded, I mean the bottom floor vanished, more times than I have probably wrote amezen in these blogs....... But still in tact and all it's original furniture. We then had a free afternoon, so had a walk around all the little shops and side streets. Our tour guide Tho (ledge) (pronounced toe!) suggested having tailoring done in this city as it is among some of the best in the country, so along with the suit I'm having tailored in Thailand I decided to have a coat tailored, the coat costing just 50 dollars,... Bar-actual-gain!?... Emma too had the eye for some tailoring in the form of dresses, jeans, jackets and coats... But narrowed it down to a beautiful light grey winter coat... Looking forward to seeing both once complete tomorrow lunch, now that is service!... Once we got the hard work out the way, we headed for more important stuff...... Beer and food, so found a good local bar/ restaurant that actually did western food, as needed a little break from authentic food. So both had the calzone and fries, classic!.. All very delicious..... We then tried to find a good bar with a bit of music and good atmos, but failed so come 10 we decided to head back, chill and get an early night as we've got to get up at half 5 .... Oi troi oi! That's oh my Buddha in Vietnamese!.. I know, get me! ... Anyway, laters!.... Much love, Simooon and das Emlar!,,... X x......
