hello hello!
I really need to start blogging more, i feel so pathetic that I only have basically one single blog up. I really want to start doing it everyday and using this as a sort of journal to document everything that is going on while i am over here in Norway. But, for some reason i don't ever feel motivated to blog I guess I would rather be doing other really awesome things here. haha... well, I'm approaching my half way point in a couple weeks. Looking back to the first day that I arrived here, I was so different then. Now, I feel as though Kristiansand has become my home. I still love it here, I still feel as though I couldn't be happier anywhere else. What has changed is that I am so much more used to everything here, the differences that I saw in the beginning which i wrote about in my first blog, have now become so normal and a part of everyday life. I think that I am also used to the prices here now... which i thought would be impossible in the beginning. The dollar is getting stronger so that is good news for me. Currently I believe it's at about 6.0, which means that $1 is equal to 6 Norwegian Krone. When i first got here in August it was around 5.2. Anyway enough of that.... School is getting extremely hard right now. I have so much to do! so many papers to write and so many presentations to prepare and so many textbooks to read! The good thin though, is that Im actually feeling pretty motivated to do school right now. I should, it is October. Especially after my long trip I took to London, Barcelona, and Paris! Which was so amazing. I had the best time ever travling to those awesome places. I have always dreamt of traveling and I can't believe I'm actually doing it right now. I never thought I would ever go to Paris! In Paris I went to the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Royal Palace of Versaille, and to the top of the Eiffel Tower at night when it was all lit up! It was very surreal being at all those places, i was just amazed the entire time. I feel so lucky to be able to go to places that I have always dreamt of going to! We flew on RyanAir so the flights weren't expensive at all. i was with a group of seven so that made things a little more difficult but we all still had a great time. I love everyone that I went traveling with, they have all become my best friends! In London we went to Buckingham Palace, the the houses of Parliament, we saw Big Ben, WestMinster Abbey, the London Bridge, the Tower of London and so many other awesome things that I can't even name right now. I absolutely loved London, I wouldn't mind living there! and then Barcelona was so much fun too! IT was HOT and the beach on the Mediterranean Sea was beautiful! We saw where the 1992 Olympics took place, the church that was started in 1882 by Gaudi and is still under construction because it is so amazing and detailed and we saw this famous beautiful castle and park that overlooked the entire city of Barcelona. The greatest part was that I got to refresh my memory on speaking spanish! I was surprised at home much i was able to communicate in spanish, I haven't taken it since probably five years ago. so that was much fun along with drinking Sangria on the beach! What did suck was traveling to these amazing places on a small budget. We stayed in hostels everywhere and actually shared beds because we wanted it to be cheaper. We weren't supposed to share beds but got away with it through just half of the trip then we started to buy our own beds because it was just less hassle and easier. We never really went to any nice restaurants we just always went to grocery stores and bought food to make sandwiches, cheap stuff. We didnt go inside some places because it would cost money, so I can't wait to go back to those places someday in the future and just wine and dine! haha especially in Paris. By the end of our trip everyone was so exhausted that we just all wanted to be back home in Norway. I was so tired when I got back! That was when I started missing home a lot. Maybe it was because I was so exhausted but I really really just wanted to be back at home in America and eat american food and be able to read everythign in english and hear everyone speaking english and be able to use dollars instead of Great British Pounds, Euros, or Norwegian Krone. Plus I was really missing Zach a lot at this time. It's hard being so far away from Zach and my family. When I talk to them on the phone it is as if I am just a couple hours away, the home sickness really started to kick in that day when i returned. But then life went on and i went to school the next day and realized how much school work I had to focus on that I wasn't really homesick anymore. Anyway Im going to post some new albums of my trips i took for everyone to see. Hopefullly, Ill start updating my blogs more often. Until then, I miss everyone but know that I'm safe and doing great still! Love you all!
