"So modern" my mom exclaimed as we check in to an amazingly modern hotel. Then we went to Avenue Andrassy which was outstandingly beautiful. Then we went to a metro ride ( which is a underground ride which is like a subway) and stopped in the Jewish Quarter. First we went to a Synagogue in fact it was the largest in Europe. But it did have some church like items for example organs. My mom heard about a girl in the holocaust who was lined up by the river and was about to get shot her mom told her "I love you I love you, you can make it you are a good swimmer." And she and a few others made it across the Danube. She lived America for the rest of the Holocaust. Then moved back to Hungary, but now lives in NY. We were hoping to see her but we heard that she moved to New York. Instead we saw a different survivor, but she did not understand us. We weep as we see the Weeping Willow. The Weeping Willow is a metal trunk, metal branches, and metal leaves. The leaves have names of people who died in the holocaust and the years they lived. It was very nice of the American actor Tony Curtis. After that we saw a plaque of the people who helped Jews during WWII. Next we saw a Graveyard Garden. It was beautiful. Time to go the Jewish Meusum I thought happily! We had a tour that told us amazing facts all about WWII. In fact we had a tour guide. We walked walked walked and walked. We saw the chain bridge it was beautiful when it was lit up. There was a monument called the Bronze Shoes because the Natzis made them take of their shoes and then shot them into the Danube. The shoes were model my the Danube and are still being seen today.
