A very busy weekend. on the Friday we are invited to a World Cup Party to watch Holland v Brazil, very odd as it was mostly Connor and I watching while everyone else ate, drank and talked. I feel "soccer" has along way to go in getting the white population as involved as the rest of the world. We went into Cape Town on Saturday and did the "fan walk" to the stadium 2.5km which took around 1 hour due to huge crowds. Onc in the ground we are sitting behind the Argentine goal looking at Table Mountain above the roof at the other end, stuning setting but a bit of a walkover for Germany. We get back in time to watch the vSpain v Paraguay game on TV.
Sunday we played a fathers ands sons game in around 25c heat and blazing sun(remember this is the middle of winter) a very credible 3-3 draw after 90 minutes, then a braai(BBQ) with much meat and beer. I could barely walk by the end of the evening and today my achilles felt like they had been torn to pieces, but improved during the day. Tomorrow Connor is playing in goal for the local under 15's before we go to meet David Beaumont and family before the match.
Still trying to get some photos on but no luck so far
