We arrived at Coober Pedy around 10am after staying the night at a roadside camp 50km South of the town.
We booked into the Oasis Caravan Park $50 per night. After setting up we went for a cruise around town.
Coober Pedy is an amazing place, we checked out 3 underground churches, ⛪️ Catholic, Revival & Greek Orthodox then off to the Desert Cave Hotel for a drink.
We called into the Umooda Opal Museum & Jewellery Shop I brought Trish an Opal ring for our 20th Wedding Anniversary.
That night we went out for tea to Johns Pizza Joint, an institution in Coober Pedy we ordered a family pizza it was huge & not bad at all for a place like this.
The next day we checked out the local Op Shop, Thomas won't let us drive past one, he's always on the lookout for a book or some other bargain. Then off to the underground book shop & the Old Timers Mine, we did a self guided tour of the mine & underground house it was very interesting.
That afternoon we went out to the Breakaways, 30 km north of town, a great spot to watch the sun go down & see the changing colours of the hills we got some great photos here, we then checked out the dingo fence over 5500km long stretching across 3 States, we came back to town via the Oodnadatta Track.
