Okay, we took a short detour to share wedding pix, but now we're back to Day 4 on the road. Stay tuned. More adventures to come.
Day 4: Green River, Utah to Las Vegas, Nevada We started out the day on 1-70 West and ended the day on 1-15 West. The day started sunny and clear and in the 50's. The first part of the day was spent going up and down summits, the temperature dropping to 28 degrees F with snow showers, and the middle part of the day was spent going down, down through the Virgin River Canyon through some absolutely gorgeous terrain. By 1pm we stopped at the Moapa-Paiute Travel Plaza right off 1-15, better known as The Sinclair to us, because the gasoline is Sinclair brand, the one that has the dinosaur logo. We had a short lunch of peanut butter sandwiches, chips, etc. Around 1:00 pm we were off on a twisty, two-lane road going toward The Valley of Fire. We stopped off at the Seven Sisters overlook to check out the place where our wedding was going to be. It was beautiful! After we looked around Seven Sisters and felt comfortable about where the ceremony was going to be we drove on to our destination. As we drove toward Green Valley Ranch in Henderson, we passed through Las Vegas on 15 South and ran into some traffic. It was stop and go for a while, but after 50 minutes we were through Vegas.
Green Valley Ranch was amazing! It was so beautiful and the people were so great. They made you feel like high rollers even if your weren't (which we definitely weren't).
