17/4/07

After our day that never happend we arrived into Nadi at 5.10am. We got a picture of our plane as it had a very cool picture on the side of it. Then we headed through passport control. We had a bit of a scare when our bags were the last ones out of the shoot, it took around 45mins and there was hardly anyone there but us. But we got them in the end and headed through to arrivals. I was told that we'd meet a Fiji Experience rep and then be taken to our hostel for then night.

It wassnt as smooth as this though, we met the rep but they didnt do anything but take our tickets and ask us to wait for someone else to come for us. When someone did some it turned out to be a random taxi man looking to get a fare out of us. I cottoned on to this and luckily we didnt get into the car with him.

After this we went to the Fiji Expeince office int he main building and i kicked up a bit of a fuss. This worked though and after a short wait in the office we had a whole bus to take us to the hostel for just the 2 of us. I knew this trip would be interesting when i looked at the dashboard and could see through to the engine.

We got to the hostel and booked in getting out first taste of 'dorms'. They were ok and had single beds a good thing becasue being on top bunks sucks because you have nowhere to sit. That day we just chilled. We chatted to 2 girls staying in our room that had been to Aus and NZ and were off to SF next so we chatted and swapped info. I went down to the pool and Jaimee stayed in the room as she started to feel ill. It quickly became overcast though and started to rain so i headed inside to see Jaimee.

Jaimee wassnt any better though and stayed in bed all night so i had dinner down in the bar on my own. I brought her up some chips but she was too ill to eat them. So that night we stayed in the room i wrote my diary and Jaimee was ill. I listened to the rain which was sooo heavy i got soaked every time i went out, needless to say our washing that we had done during the day never dried.

18/4/07

We got up at 6.60 to be picked up at the bus by 8. We got up early knowing things would take a bit longer with Jaimee being ill. I was happy to see her up though meaning we could get on the buss and not have to wait 4 days for the next one. We were ready though on time and ate breakfas in the lobby while waiting for the bus. Everything was so wet from last nights rain, watching people slip and trip across reception kept us entertained for a while. 

The bus came and we got our tickets and info. The seats at the front had already been taken so unfortuatly we had some seats quite far back. After picking everyone up we stopped to welcome everyone onto the bus and introduce ourselves to one another. We had 2 guide John and De. They told us what would be going on in the next few days and then explained where we'd be going to next.
