Not the plan we had for getting to the airport, but we made it. Predicted Northeast snowstorm kept changing the plans. Our attempt to take an early bus to Portland, then an early bus to Logan today was foiled when the buses were canceled from Augusta before any flakes fell. So we drove to Boston, stayed overnight near the airport, and awoke at a reasonable time to rain with plenty of time for our late morning flight to Miami.
I like reading about places we visit. The recommended Trinidad book was too strange; I’ve started a book set in Bhutan, our April trip. Its philosophical musings start me thinking. We’ve been “on the road” now for over two years. It’s perhaps crazy although we’ve had such amazing experiences. The norm has become a series of airports, hotels, buses, hand laundry, packing cubes, new people, amazing wildlife, BBC, CNN, “Inside Africa” segments. Can we use the water for brushing? Does the tp go in the bowl or in the basket? Where am I when I wake up at 3 am? Even at home I have to stop and think. This journal is my link to loved ones no matter where we are; maybe someday Thea will read our descriptions of the world as it was in the 2010s and 2020s.
We land by 11 pm in Port of Spain and get to our hotel after long lines through Customs and Immigration and no one to meet us. But all is good and the bed is comfortable!

Char I was just correcting my January 2011 Trinidad Ebird list. You will love Asa Wright. Have fun!
Tina Serdjenian Enjoy! Come back by summer! Xo, T.
Tracey So fun, traveling †hru you. I am not sure I could continuously live out of my suitcase and packing cubes, trying to pay bills on the fly, and manage my home from far away places...You two do an amazing job at it all. Have fun.
Tracey Is Trinidad on Eastern Time or next one further east (Atlantic?).
Sue Brandehoff I am enjoying every minute of your journeys along with you. And I really marvel at your curiosity and sense of adventure. Your journal is a real pleasure to read. Can't wait for Bhutan!
