Our last day in warm, embracing tropical breezes. These last three days have been based at the Hilton Rose Hall, an all-inclusive resort set along the ocean on land originally part of the Rose Hall estate. All meals, beverages are included at a choice of six restaurants. Breakfast has been a massive buffet offering every conceivable breakfast option (all fresh fruits, juices, omelette stations, hot and cold mains, pastries, good Jamaican coffee). No problem accommodating a couple hundred people at a time. Sitting outside, watching families with young kids, I can't help but be reminded of our early years in Hawai'i with two little girls, eating papaya, pineapple, building sand castles on the beach.
Two pools, an abundance of beach chairs, complimentary bottle of wine in our room. Evening entertainment. Different style from our standard travel, but a good way to unwind after a week of early morning starts. We lounged along the beach in the shade of palms, enjoying the warm breeze off the ocean while reading or dozing. A barmaid stops by for a fresh beverage refill. All covered in the price.
Dinner outside at the Seaside Grill along the water. Then a short night's sleep before our early departure tomorrow. A series of storms are pounding North America; hopefully the return flights will go as planned.
