The weather cleared this morning. A spectacular way to celebrate Earth Day as we climbed back up to Pele La at 11,000 feet with clear views of the "smaller" mountains (18,000 feet) snow capped, clouds breaking occasionally to reveal even higher peaks. It's breathtaking; photos cannot do it justice, cannot capture the expansiveness. Lebo's company takes trekkers up through these "lower" passes in the autumn when the snow has disappeared. What a backdrop to our final open-air breakfast. A multicolored Himalayan Monal reveals itself in the sunlight, iridescent blue/green/copper/purple with a peacock-like crest on its head.
We say goodbye to our camp crew at our last picnic lunch in Bajo (4000 feet) as we return west to Paro for tonight. There we have our final group dinner. Tomorrow we fly from Paro, back to Delhi where we leave during Wednesday night for Amsterdam.

Tina Serdjenian What a breath-taking ending to this trip. Happy that it wasn’t totally cloudy on the mountain and that the Himalayan Monal gave you one last special appearance in the sunlight. So beautiful! Xo, T.
