Flew to Melbourne on Tuesday and as we arrived quite late in the evening we just popped out for a bite to eat then went straight to bed. We stayed in Base hostel in St Kilda and had been put into The Sanctuary - a girls only dorm and it was heaven!! Got our own towels, hair straighteners and shampoo. The following morning we got up and had a walk around St Kilda which is a really nice seaside town with lots of shops. So we did a little shopping! Booked a trip to do the Great Ocean Road on Saturday. As Melbourne is a fashion city we thought it only right we should sample the many shops on Chapel Street. That evening was Ladies night in the hostel bar and we got a free bottle of bubbly each needless to say the night got a little messy after that. Spent Friday recovering and then met Luke - one of the guys we met in Bangkok right at the start of our trip - for lunch at the St Kilda Baths. Went to bed reasonably early as we had to get up at 7 for our Great Ocean Road trip in the morning. We were picked up at our hostel in a minibus at 8.10. The 12 apostles are the most impressive part of the Great Ocean road trip - as you can see from our pics. Though it was pretty windy. Visited the lighthouse from the tv series Round the Twist which was fun and we saw some Koalas too. Got back to the hostel at around 9pm where Sarah headed straight to bed as she wasnt feeling very well. The next morning we had to get the doctor out as turned out Sarah had a throat infection and needed anti biotics. She spent the next two days in bed so Amanda had to do the sightseeing for the both of us!! Amanda met up with Lizzie Cardis (a friend from home) and her friend Tash and they went to the Ramsay Street. On Monday she went to a Film exhibition and then met up with Lizzie again for a trip up the sky tower. We had bought tickets for the Official Neighbours Night and Sarah was feeling a little better so we headed down the the Elephant and Wheelbarrow on Fitzroy street. There were five Neighbours stars there - past and present - to proivde the evenings entertainment and have photos taken. We met Dillion Timmons, Elle Robinson, Steve Parker and Amy Greenwood and Connor. We did a Nieghbours quiz though unfortunately we didn't win. Although amanda won an Oz experience trip for her dancing! Made our way to Fitzroy gardens on Tuesday to see Captain Cooks cottage. It got to nearly 40 degrees that day so we were absolutely dying. Flew back to Sydney the next day.
