Hoorah! My blog has come back to life. Maybe it needed a holiday too or maybe it is a sign that I am just boring you all & you needed a break but prepare for dose of blogs!I just re read the my last blog and realied how many Typo's there were, Apologises! i ran out of time at the airport so i couldnt check it but it's all updated and extended now.
We flew back to Quito on Tuesday and after a spot of Shopping and lovely meal we prepared for a little day trip north on Wednesday to the very famous market town of Ottavolo 2hrs north of Quito. I coaxed mum into getting a public bus. I sounded like my old tour leader ' Mum , it's all part of the cultural experience'. Two hours later after a bumpy ride with the constant smell of diesel fumes my mum announced' right, i think I have had enough of cultural experiences, from now on ,it's private taxis! We seem to have Ottavlo to ourselves on Wednesdasy. As you'd expect we headed straight to the food market. You could literally buy anything and what a rich vibrant array of colours. My mum dutifully inspected what she thought looked like the cleanest stand and we joined the locals for lunch to taste alittle fresh pork, literally sliced off the back of a joint and beans. We seem to add alittle excitment to everything as everyone seemed more interested in us rather than their food! Our taxi driver coming home laughed when we told him we had eaten there, appartently it's not a spot for tourists. Ah well, alittle immersion in local habits is always good. For the afternoon we raided the craft market and bought lots of jewellery and some more table cloths! Get your sunglasses ready for some bright dinner parties when I get back!
