Hello EnglandWe left phi phi on the 15th around 9 am on the ferry and arrived at phuket at 10.30am. There were loads of taxis waiting at the port so we just grabbed one to Patong. About a 45 minute journey, as we approached Patong it was more bulit up and very busy, again we had no accomodation previously booked, so we said to our driver we needed something cheap and he stopped off at p.s.2 bungalows. This was cheap enough for the one nights stay and we had two rooms sleeping 3 each. This was a 'hangover' day as we all went out the last night on phi phi......so this only meant one thing ......Maccy D's!!!!!!We felt so much better after!!
After we sat around the pool for a few hours and we couldn't believe the amount of old crusty cornflake men with the young Thai girls. It was really disgusting and they were play fighting in the pool!! It really looked pathetic!!! And I wouldn't even get in the same pool as them because of it. Alot of the men were Austrian.
That night we headed to the town, it was just as expected, very very busy, similar to the hussle and bussle vibe of London. There were alot of Thai girls about, all young, wearing tiny skimpy outfits, lots of bars and clubs, many stalls, again selling anything and everything you can imagine....even a willy massage!! We had dinner at an open market place, you can get so much seafood here, reasonably priced and could easily share a fish and side dishes. It just so happens one of our friendfs from back home had just arrived in Phuket so we met after dinner in one of the bars. It's really weird seeing someone you know when you're away.....it wasn'yt long until we were up dancing and we requested Y.M.C.A..........very expensive in terms of drinks, and it's really obvious they are just out for your money to boost their trade and economy. In all of the bars it was full of Thai girls sitting with groups of men old enough to be our Dad. Not pleasent to look at but itn was everywhere you looked, but we were having a great night so you forget about it after a while.
Things to remember in Phuket:
Very expensive
Most unsafest place we have felt so far, you would want to stick together here
Very lively....and has many places to go see a ping pong show
Loads of dirty old men (aged between 50-70 years old) with younger Thai women
If you don't have to, don't book any accomodation until you're there as you will always get it cheaper!
Next Stop Chang Mai, Northern Thailand.....................xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
