Clarkestar's at it again!
Yet another Internet cafe that doesn t support a standard issue keyboard.
Well, it s been three days now, and Morocco is proving to be a challanging place to really enjoy. There s plenty of history to wallow in, and the food is tasty and certainly exotic when compared to the British palate... but with this said, Morroco seems to be actively discarding portions of its culture in favour of business. For example, our hotel [along with many others] has dropped it Moroccon appeal in favour of a more french/european vibe. There s no traditional Moroccon food on the menu [yep, no Tagine] despite the hotel promising a Morrocon feast. In stead, there s typical bland french offerings, with crepes and other cakes, and sub standard dishes that all consist of some form of meat with a cream based sauce. This is not exactly what one expects when they pay for a Morrocon banquet. But then again, nothing is as it seems in morocco, and perhaps this is part of its charm. If you ve booked a 4 star hotel then you might as well take three of those stars away. Don t expect soap in the rooms, english tv channels, decent customer service, a safe deposit box, a fridge, a fully functional shower, even a bar...
If you re are on a back packing holiday, then you ll do just fine, if, on the other hand, you re on a honeymoon, and chilling out is your main agendq, then you might want to seriously reconsider.
But once you leave the hotel, the fun really starts to begin... The Atlas Mountains were really quite special. More on that tommorow.
Using this keyboard has been a royal pain.
