Hey All,
We have arrived safe in Perth. We are staying with friends here so are back to civilisation and eating western food again. Having a great time & catching up on much needed sleep. Sunday we went to a Australian Football League (AFL) game - which was brilliant to see, we really enjoyed it and the atmosphere was really good. Just about got to grips with the rules before hand. No trouble either because they only sale mid strength alcohol so all in all it was so much better than sport at home!
We also are proud to be British in Oz whilst claiming the ashes - lets just say everyone is very sour and have moved on to the next sport already and are acting like it never happened!
Monday we went into Perth City - which was really nice, a mix between old buildings and new sky scrapers - they are doing alot to the city, to modernise it but its a great place - so we did a little looking around and shopping and sat on the grass in the sun for part of the day. The weather has been alot cooler than what we have been used to - about 16 degrees - so lets just say the trousers and zippies have been on and we have been rather cold.
Yesterday the weather got a little warmer so we sat and relaxed in the garden - it such a different lifestyle here, its just fantastic to have the sun shining around you, and just makes you want to go outside and enjoy yourselves.
Today, we have Geraints car so we are heading up the coast a little and are going to come down the coastal road popping in on the towns and beaches along the way, and the weather is great about 20 degrees i think, so a lil sun bathing and check out the surfers! Hopefully we can brave it and get a lil snorkelling in.
We are having a fab time and just cant believe what style of life everyone leads out here - everyone is outside and its so socialable. Plus the sun makes you wake up with a smile!

Obviously it's a lot different to S.E Asia but we loving it already and its somewhere Western, therefore its somewhere we can kick back and start enjoying living here a lil more as we wont be moving around as quickly as before - so lets see what the next 5 months bring us.
