9th February Cairns
Before we arrived in cairns our bus driver Belinda took us to a croc farmThe Crocodile farm was wicked even Steve Irwin himself would have been impressed, as soon as we walked in we got to hold a baby crocodile lucky enough it had its mouth cello taped up so lucky enough I kept all my fingers, was well cute wanted to take him home,
We also got to hold a snake but I left that to Claudia ha haThe two Zoo keepers showed us all around the croc farm there were loads of big crocodiles all in different ponds the zoo keepers even went in and fed them in front of us all, making them jump up for a dead bird, which was quite scary and biggest teeth I have ever seen defiantly could eat a apple through a tennis racket any day ha ha!!!Some of the crocodiles were even jumping up at the metal wired fence as you can imagine we were all well scared, they even let one crocodile walk out of the gate that's the part when I did a runner and gave my camera to Claude to take the pictures ha ha…..The croc farm was so cool we even got to fed loads of kangaroo's the little Skippy's were so cute I defiantly wanted to take one of them home with me, they came straight up to us and ate out of our hands one was evening hold hand my hand while he ate so cool…..with there little pawsThe baby crocodiles got fed chicken heads looked so sick but the crocs were loving it I suppose everyone loves a bit of KFC ha ha…. We also see emus that kept eating the crocodile's chicken heads of the truck errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr…..
I bought some toy crocodiles for little Danny as I know he loves animals so I thought it might be some think a bit different from his favourite fish toys
We Finally arrived at out hostel Gilligan's in Cairns couldn't wait after being told all through travelling the east coast Gilligan's is the best place to stay it was defiantly our favourite hostel and the place to be, it was so nice like a massive hotel all modern with a massive swimming pool and bar and club attached to it We had a four bedroom dorm but as It was now just the three of us as Kelly was now back home it looked like we had a new room mate, as I walked into our room I was really impressed the room looked brand new and all fresh and modern with a lovely shower room and balcony and nice fresh sheets lovely jubbly
Our new room mate wasn't there but first impressions wasn't the best as there were empty beer bottles left on the table and lots of fag butts in the ash tray on the balcony and lovely pants left on the balcony, we was like great we've defiantly got a alcoholic man just what we need ha ha no naked nude runs for us in the bedroom any more ha ha!!!!We met our room mate later that day he was called Noel and from South Africa and looked about late thirties and smoked like a chimley and drunk like a fish hmmm my kind of man ha ha!!! Actually to be honest we got on really well with Noel and felt well sorry for him he told us he had been travelling for the last 18 years (and I thought I was addictive to travel) he was a really lovely guy just didn't seem to do much except sit in his room or go pub, we invited him out with us and the boys a few times so he had a few good night outs (lucky git) ha ha
Cairns was my favourite place in Australia we had so many good night's out there from as soon as we got there right until we left we was actually there about 11 nights and out for 10 nights I have never drunk so much in my life now I think maybe were the alcoholics not Noel ha ha!!!! It was so good as all our friends we met while travelling up the east coast were there about 10-20 of us out every night. We loved it as we met up with Tim and Joe who we met on our Fraser Island trip and Whitsundays trip, also the irish boys Billy and Dessie from Whitsundays and also Polly and Lindsey also Sadie and her boyfriend Leggy and sadie and matt from Mission beach and also Anna and Denice from Surfers Paradise
Sorry every night there was at least 8-15 of us out, we would start off in our hostel bar Gilligan's shocking it out on the dance floor showing everyone our Justin Timberlake moves of course and air guitaring to Bonjovi as they literally played the same music every night at the same time so by the end of the 2 weeks we more or less had a dance routine ha ha then after getting a bit tipsy it was on to P J O'Brien's pub for more drinks and Jaeger Bomb shots then after that saving the best to last… going to the Woolshed and dance on the tables till about 4 in the morning (we had so many funny nights there) even us girls went in for a dance competition it was so embarrassing I even got through to the next round I think they must of felt sorry for me
The next night was even more embarrassing just when I am suffering from a major hangover and only drinking the hard stuff coca cola all night, Jenna gets pulled up for the pole dancing competition and oh yeah they needed one more girl to volunteer as I continually say no and no other girls volunteer and give Claude the look that she best get up they as I am defiantly not the guy with the microphone and the whole pub starting chanting my name I just wanted to curl up and die with embarrassment and there's Claude trying to hide I wouldn't even mind she's the actress and had been drinking I hadn't!!!!
So totally embarrassed and sober as a judge I am now up on a bar dancing round a pole against Jenna and 2 other random girls, me and jen just couldn't stop laughing really couldn't be serious for a single minute theres these tarty girls giving it there all anyway all turned out very funny in the end me and jen ended up going through to the final round so it was me verse jenna and another girl in the end me and jen won joint first and one a free bar tab ha ha just want I needed with a major hangover ha ha so the drinks were on us
Our friend Dessie also won the boys pole dancing competition so we had two bar tabs on the go so it was all worth it in the end….
By the way Claude I still don't know if I have forgiven you yet for making me suffer like that ha ha!!!! Actresses hey!!!! Lol….
In Cairns we also did a boat trip to the Great Barrier Reef, where we did snorkelling and our first introduction for scuba diving It was totally amazing being under the water and so glad we finally see Nemo and his friends the sea coral was so beautiful I felt like I was in shark tale the movie in a little fish world. We see some huge fish too which I was a bit scared when they came up really close to me with the big mouths open blowing bubbles, we also see sea cucumbers and baby sharks (lucky enough when I was back on the boat). On our boat trip we also got taken to Green island which is a island right in the middle of the ocean which was really lovely and a nice hotel on it with a big swimming pool so we jumped right in pool and I was playing with a little Chinese girl I was teaching her to squirt water out of the foam tube floats in the pool she was loving it couldn't stop laughing and kept squirting her grandad and mum (I bet they love me for teaching her that) ha ha!!!
Also in cairns we did a Uncle Brian's trip to the rainforest which we had been recommend by Ryan and John we meet on our Fraser island trip.It was the best trip I had ever been on we had such a good day. We got picked up from out hostel on the uncle brain's bus at 7am and there was about 20 of us on the way to the rainforest to see and swim in the beautiful lakes and we also even learnt a bit about the rainforest too, we had a really good funny guy seemed a bit crazy like me he literally new everything about plants or animals in the rainforest. The lakes were freezing cold but so nice and refreshing; our next stop was to the big rock slides where we all got to slide down. It was so cool swimming in the rock pools at the bottom of the waterfalls after we all had a go sliding down the rocks on our own in groups we then got back in the bus and our guide put on loads of cheesy 80's music of course I was in my element we also played games on the bus while we made our way further into the rainforest!!!!Then we stopped of the bust to a old fashioned tea house where we had home made lunch we got served hot chicken and rice and bread it was lovely especially being cold from swimming in all the lakes and waterfalls and then to finish it the lady pulled a steaming hot home made peach sponge out of the oven yeah u can imagine my greedy eyes lit up finished off with vanilla ice cream amazing!!! Life just couldn't get any better ha ha After that we go back on the bus and went to the Famous waterfall where Peter Andre filmed his music video for Mysterious Girl and where they filmed the timotei hair advert. The waterfall was so big and lovely just a shame it was raining and the water was freezing cold you could hear Jenna screaming as it was so cold it was so funny, as got through the cold water and finally got under the huge waterfall I finally plucked up enough courage to swim straight through the waterfall and just as I opened my eyes I see hunky man in water I was like what this waterfall magic but then I see his pretty girl friend waiting for him on the side with a towel so the dream soon ended ha ha!!!! Really enjoyed this trip defiantly recommend it if you go to Cairns!!!!!
Valentines day our 3 boy mates Tim, Billy and Dessie took me Jenna and Claude out for meze at the Greek restaurant next door to our hostel they also came to our hostel bedroom door in there shirts and with a card each and a box of milk tray how sweet, We had a really good nite at the restaurant the food was beaut and Claude was in her element as she is half Greek they even had a belly dancer there too entertain us and once again I got pulled up to dance with the belly dancer she must of seen my belly after all that food ha ha, then it was obviously back to Gilligan's for drinks and to met Joe and Lisa who had been out for Ribs at the Marina
In Cairns we also booked our flight to New Zealand to do the Kiwi Experience for 3 weeks starting off in Auckland and doing the north and south islands, we also booked Fiji for 10 days for the 11th of march and back to Sydney on the 22nd of March to find work booooooo!!!!!!
