So I´ve safely made it to South America and after a manic couple of days getting ready to leave I´ve finally had a chance to set up this blog!

Had an interesting flight out sat by a guy who had clearly done an all-nighter in Amsterdam and absolutely reeked of booze and sweat! He then proceeded to spread himself out, kept falling asleep on my shoulder and at one point after coming back from the loo I found him sleeping across my seat and had to get the air hostess to wake him up! Needless to say I´ve never been so pleased to get off a flight.....

I got chatting to another solo traveller at the baggage claim area and shared a taxi with him into BA before going to get some food at a local parilla (barbecue) restaurant recommended by a local chap who saw us wandering around looking a bit lost. Absolutely delicious but sooo much meat, washed down though with a very nice bottle of Malbec, hopefully the first of many! :-)

I spent my first day in BA wandering around the city and getting my bearings. There doesn´t seem to be a huge amount to actually see and I´m told it´s all about the culture and the nightlife. It´s not the most attractive city I´ve been to and the traffic is crazy but there´s quite a nice buzz about the place.

I'm headed back to my hotel shortly to meet up with the rest of the group that I´ll be spending the next 3 weeks doing an overland tour with....hopefully we´ll be headed out tonight to experience some of this famous nightlife!!
