Hi all! Thought I had better get this whole thing started before I never do it at all!

I managed to get here safe and in one piece...only a minor mishap with those silly little milk cartons you get on planes and me splurting it over the guy sat next to me! But he seemed ok with it! I've got to say, San Francisco airport has got to be the most efficient airport I have ever been to. There was a man opening up new lanes at passport control, and a very, overly friendly american who was only to happy to listen to me ranting on about my trip while he made me do the whole fingerprint business. Then I ended up chasing my backpack around the baggae bit as it must have been one of the first off. And then I was straight in a taxi and away!

I do apologise for the excessive description of my day at the airport, but I have very little else to tell...have had a bit of a walk around the area where my hostel is and it looks pretty cool. This has to be the hilliest place on earth though...my calf muscles will be huge after 4 days here!! The hostel is nice...I'm sure none of you will be shocked though that I'm starting to doubt my ability to "slum it"!

I promise next time I write I'll have much more interesting things to say...right now I'm hungry and struggling to stay awake having been up for nearly 24hours. Although I'm going to do my best to battle through for a bit longer, it is only 7pm here!!!
