Yesterday was our flight to Alice Springs, which was easy to get onto, but a pain in the bum actually en route! Liam got pretty annoyed with the setup, we were told off for waiting ourside Gate 5 (which it said to wait outside on the board) when the place turned out to be departing from Gate 8, then we were right at the back with no overhead luggage space, and by the window, which the view was blocked by an engine. Finally, our time in Perth has finally come to an end! We've both seen pretty much everything there is to see in and around the city, and very much in anticipation of moving on to somewhere different. Today was the day we met Claire's family! It had all been very last minute and quite out of the blue - since we weren't even sure if the lady we had been asked to locate would still be in Perth or not, and so to have her arrange a whole day out for us was brilliant! Today we visited Perth Zoo, one of the original activities we'd wanted to do in the city, and home to the famous 'giraffe kiss' photograph. We successfully shifted from Perth Hills via the reverse journey back to the city centre, where we rendezvous-ed with Tommy, yet another Irish worker living in Perth who came to pick us up and take us to the next hostel!
