We were supposed to leave LA today and head down to San Diego to explore, but we had a niggling feeling about Disneyland that wasn't quite finished. So we decided to use our three day City Pass and return to the Disneyland Park, hopefully in a calmer environment than we had left it the other evening.
We had a lazy morning, packed up our extra suitcase that we had bought from the hotel shop (a bargain from all the cases we've seen!) and squeezed everything into Sandy, heading off to Disney, still as excited as the first time! This time we parked in Goofy! So exciting! And we knew what we were doing today, so headed straight for the trams, straight into Disneyland park and we'd already decided we were heading straight for Indiana Jones! 20 minute wait time. Soon we were sat, screaming around in an adventurers Jeep, tearing around bends, across rope bridges, under boulders! Was amazing! From there I got dragged on the haunted house! I hate those things, but actually the Disney version was quite pleasant! We then ran around to Splash Mountain, a log flume with a huge 50ft drop at the end, terrifying!! And I was right at the front!! From there we saw Winnie the Pooh and Eeyore & Tigger too! From splash mountain to Thunder mountain, with some corn chowder for lunch, served in a bread bap. Thunder mountain was done with hands in the air, massive core control and a small satisfaction of releasing our inner child!! Then a quick trip around the ranch to see the horses, goats and donkeys, through fantasy land and onto a ride called the Matterhorn bobsleds, a new ride that we wanted to try last time but the queues were so long! Today they were 45 minutes so we risked it for a biscuit! It actually went quite quickly and before we knew it we were hauled to the top of the mountain and left to sled all the way down, was worth the wait! Final rides we wanted to do were the Star Tours, a Star Wars simulator, excellent and Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters where we lazered everything in sight! Was awesome! Felt like we had conquered the rest of the rides today. And we finished just in time for Mickey's Soundsational Parade. A medley of song and floats displaying all your favourite disney characters. Felt like magic!! And a true Disney experience! Both parks now conquered we felt we could leave LA.
Jo took the helm again, pretty much 80 miles down the freeway I5, all the way to San Diego. We made good time and arrived in time to eat a bay side dinner in Oceana, the hotel restaurant, Sea Bass... Again this was amazing!! Although the price matched today. Our hotel is situated in the Mission Bay Area of San Diego. From our room we can see the ocean, and the bay. Can't wait to explore more tomorrow....
Day: 19

No more plates seen, no further roadkill!
