You have both taken some stunningly beautiful photographs. They also give the impression that there are very few people where you travel, especially in New Zealand.
We are glad you are enjoying this leg of your travels so much, but, if Christmas time in the warm Southern Hemisphere seems a little strange, then I can assure you it beats the reality of cold, rainy days with little sunlight in the Northern Hemisphere!
Lots of love,

Great hearing about your adventures second hand from mum and dad. Sounds more exciting than Lincolnshire although Christmas shopping with your mum was probably exciting enough. When they were packing it was touch and go as to whether your mum would get in or have to return with us via Bolton Love to you both Lynda

We have just returned from Lincoln and picked up your phone message and we have now caught up with all your photos. Hong Kong and Vietnam both looked amazing, especially the scorpion in a bottle. You have certainly chosen some spectacular places to visit.
We had a relaxing time in Lincoln. The shops are re-stocking after Mum did a lot of her Christmas shopping. Louis is well-groomed after her stay in the cattery and is now settling into life at home again.
Looking forward to talking to you soon.
Lots of love,
Mum and Dad

Hi both
I finally get to see all of your photo's! It sounds like you are having an amazing time. Can't believe how much you've packed in already. The video's are great too. Not sure i'd have been brave enough to hold the camera Dave.
Glad to hear you have made it safely to New Zealand; welcome back to civilization (although looking at the photos, the place you stayed in Phuket looks more like a 4 star hotel than a backpacker place - flowers on the bed AND the toilet???).
Things are fine here. I'm doing some website work for my old boss and Claire is busy with her new job as deputy. Going to see The Proclaimers in Bristol tonight. Yes, I realise that's a bit sad and not nearly as cool as you two modern age grand tourers, but it's exciting in my books.
Good ridance to the cockroaches. Just watch out for Kiwi birds. I hear they can be up to two metres tall and have been known to eat backpackers in the past...
Keep in touch
Love Chris

Well you certainly made up for lost time with the two blogs from Thailand. Hopefully you can sort out the issues with the laptop so that communication is easier in NZ.
We are preparing for Auntie Liz, Uncle Arthur and the girls coming up for Claire Waller's wedding at the Beamish Hotel. Mum and I are invited to the evening do, so it will be good to catch up with everyone's news.
Have a safe journey to NZ and hopefully you can meet Lyndsay and Wayne on your travels.
Lots of love,
Mum and Dad

We are full of admiration for your climb on Mount Fuji. In retrospect it was probably an advantage that you could not see the summit on your ascent, as you couldn't see how much further you had to go.
Mum's phone has given up the ghost, so we will replace it soon. My mobile, sans colour screen, camera, WAP access, is still going strong though.Long live old technology. Looking forward to seeing/hearing about your travels in Vietnam and Laos.
Lots of love,
Mum and Dad

Enjoyed seeing your pictures from the Grand Palace. Gives me an idea of a new design for the garden shed ......Certainly looks hot, but you should be learning how to live life in the slow lane by now.
Jack and Myra Forbes, at number 27 were asking after you both. A postcard to them would be good. Foster and Ann have moved into their new home at last and everyone is well here. Auntie Kathleen coming for lunch on Sunday. She will be able to catch up with your blog. My hints for her to buy a laptop are falling on deaf ears. Sarah fine in Perth. She has just bought a second-hand car and called it....Bruce!
