We left Kings Canyon and the Northern Territory today. We are really please we made the decision to come and see this part of Australia, it's definitley been worth it and is our favourite part of Australia so far.
Anther looooong drive through the desert and we got back to Coober Pedy, again we arrived a little too late to see any of the attractions, they have a really unique golf course here with black greens but we weren't able to check it out. We managed to have a quick look round a really weird sculpture garden that claimed to show art, what it actually showed was a load of old scrap and junk stuck together. Some of the sculptures used actual props from the film Pitch Black which was filmed here.
We had a drink at the Underground cafe which is located funnily enough underground. Here we met a fascinating bloke from Bosnia. He had lived in Coober Pedy for 40 years, coming over to work in the mines, now he has this little cafe that he shares with some aboriginees who sell tradtional didgeridoos. He showed us all the didgeridoos (some of which are sold for over $4000 and taught us how to spot a fake one. Did you know that original ones are hollowed out by termites? We're not sure why that makes them better but apparently it does! We also got to see the worlds largest didgeridoo and he gave us a quick demonstration on how to play them!
