Hi
We arrived in Krabi on Wednesday. From Kanchanaburi we returned to Bangkok and flew down to Krabi from there which took just over an hour! We're staying in Krabi at night but theres not that much to do during the day and the beaches across the water are much more inviting.
On Thursday we caught a boat from Krabi to Railay and settled on Phra Nang beach which is gorgeous. The boat takes 45 mins to get to Railay which can only be reached by boat and cost 100 baht (just over a pound). It has about six hotels, a tiny shop, several mischevious monkeys and is a rock climbers haven (you won't find Andy and I doing any of that!!) Whilst on the beach the only means of getting food and drink is to buy it from the boat vendors and peple that approach you on the beach - like the bbq corn man seen in the photos.
Its so lovely to be in such a quiet and scenic place away from the madness of the city.
We liked it so much that we returned again today and tomorrow we're going to return and stay for the night then make our way to Ao Nang by boat.
Not much else to report at the moment as we've just been relaxing.
Make sure you check the photos marked Kanchanaburi II which shows our last day there where we went to Tiger Temple, its something we'd both wanted to do. Its a rescue centre for Tigers which is run by several monks and volunteers, the literature tells you that you can touch real live tigers, but since going we've changed our opinions of this and decided that they must be drugged in some way - very sad. We still both look really nervous though!!
Anyway, thanks for the messages, keep them coming.
Lots of love
Claire & Andy
