LA, California
Well LA...ive been here for 3 days and its not at all what i expected! Eeveryone i spoke to before i came here was very negative about the place, but i actaully like it! Theres so much to see and do!
We arrived here thur night and we got our 1st yellow cab to the hostel...the hostel was nice enough and the people seemed friendly, we then crashed out after the 10 hour flight!
On our 1st day in LA on Friday we walked for miles exploring the surrounding area and attempted to cross the 6 way crossroads wihtout gettin killed! To our delight we found bloomingdales and macys in the beverlys shopping centre! your all america stores, plus they always remind me of friends, sad i know! plus lots of other cool shops which i had to restrain myself from buying anything....we then walked down melrose av which is full of hip and trendy shops for people who have got money to burn! of course i didnt restrain myself for long lol i purchased a very useful shoulder bag which has come in very handy, well thats my exucse anyway lol!
On saturday we made our way universal studios after some dodgy directions from the hostel, we managed to catch a bus, the subway and stuttle and arrive safely at the universal studios! I have to say it was everything i expected...with a mixture of shows, tours and rides, we just about fit everything in...the tour round the studios was cool, got to see all the movie and tv sets, which was abit sereal...then we were freaked out by the specal effects and 3d stuff on all rides and shows, back to the future ride had to be the best! the waterworld show was ace, lots of stunts and fire, oh and water lol...we chose to sit at the back, well away from the waves! lol typical girls! well worth $50 though....we then caught the bus back to the hostel and crashed out, it knackering this sightseeing business!! ;-)
On sunday we booked to go on a LA city tour with the hostel, which turned out to be ace! We set off 1st to the the chinese thearte and walk of fame, were we went mad and took loads of photos of all the stars names, its something ive always wanted to see, so it was pretty cool being able to actually see it for real! Then we moved on to see the 'Hollywood sign' its didnt actaully seem that big once we got up in the hills but as you can see from the photos we werent that close...we then went over to Santa Monica to spend lunch at venice beach, its was a lovely hot day so there was loads of people about and lots of freaky side shows on the sidewalk, but funny to watch!
After lunch we were taken up to the beverly hills to see all the celebs homes, including Tom Cruise, Britney Spears, Madonna, there were so many i cant remember, but they were amazing houses, i had to stop tori and beth trepassing lol only joking! Our last site of the day was Rodeo drive were we got to visit the rest rooms in the pretty woman hotel and stroll down rodeo dr, which was cool, they had every designer name you can imagine, with lots of rich people bobbing in and out while we took pictures from the outside like common tourists! lol but it had to be done! But I think the highlight of the day had to be the tour guy who appartently had worked with every celebrity in LA and was friends with all of them, appartently lol
Our last day here today and were all packed and checked out of the hostel...we walked down to the farmers market this morning, expecting a big outdoor market but it actually turned out to be a lovely shopping area, which a mixture of expensive posh shops and little cute places to eat! Its so hot today, really need to be sitting on a beach somewhere but instead im in a internet cafe writting this lol
Off to Fiji tonight, another 12 hour flight but im looking forward to chilling out and our 6 day tour round the island!
