Koh Toa , Thailand
Sa-wat-dii Kah everybody, I hope everyone is doing good?!
Firstly apologies for the lack of blog, I have been here for 28 days and not a peep from me ... it has been a whistle stop tour since I arrived in South East Asia and I have seen and experienced so much already(not to panic all of which I will divulge as I have been keeping a written journal)
I am currently on the blissful island of Koh Tao ... it is pretty much near paradise with its palm fringed beaches and crystal clear submerged coral water. The island itself is situated above Koh Phangan and koh Samui, all islands perfectly in the way of our decent to Singapore ... what a shame!
My trip so far has been jammed packed but not 'really' rushed and I have as far as possible gone with the flow of things, except for planning places I really want to see. I had expected traveling on my own to be lonely and ... 'traveling on my own', the scariest thing is I haven't been on my own once... not that I am complaining of course. Everyone I have met so far has been extremely lovely and friendly and very fun to chill out with, I have met a lot of Dutch,Australian, New Zealand, Canadian, French, German, British, American, plus one extraordinary Peruvian ... all have made for great travel buddies.
In a nutshell I have over my last 28 days of travel, explored:
Cambodia(an amazing country with a sorrowful history) Central Thailand(Bangkok a melting pot of East meets West madness) Northern Thailand(Chiang Mai a Northern Jungle escape, full of elephants and winding bamboo raft covered rivers) Northwestern Thailand(Kachanaburi an absolute oasis from Bangkok situated on the river Kwai, I have stories of tigers and incredible WW2 history for you ... excited?! I was at the time)
...And currently ... Southern Thailand, where I have just completed my Padi Open Water Divers course, an absolutely incredible experience. I have been in Koh Tao now for 4 days completing my course, with an Aber university friend called Christine, she is now both my newly recruited travel buddy (just for the decent down to Singapore, as we both must arrive at the airport for the 21st April, she to catch her next flight back to New Zealand and I to catch my flight to Cairns Australia, extra excited now as I will be able to dive there) I ust note Christine is now my Uber awesome life dependable, air-supplying dive buddy ... a pretty cool thing to remember together really I think ... as beautiful as Aberystwyth sunsets are I am afraid the first sunset we witnessed on Koh Tao may have pit it to the post.
Right everybody I have to go and do some fish Id, but I will be updating my blog properly very soon.
