I think I left off with us leaving Naples Italy. It's been an amazing trip. Our next stop was the island of Malta. Since we didn't have a tour booked we took our time and walked the streets of down town Valletta. Malta is filled with history but since we opted out of the guided tour I really can't tell you much more then how beautiful it is. Our cab dropped us off at the center of town in front of a beautiful court house. Well at least it looked like a court house. He pointed us in the direction of town and off we went. Strolling the streets looking in and around the local shops we soon found ourselves thirsty. And maybe a little hungry. Of course one must do as the locals do so I asked our server if she drinks beer. She said yes so I asked for what ever kind she drinks. It will be good enough for me. It was a local beer called????? Tasty I have yo say. :). After a light snack we continued on our journey and saw these little bitty electric taxis. They were the cutest little cars so we hired one to take us back to the ship. ZOOM ZOOM,,,,,,,,,,,,,off we go. Zipping up and down streets dodging other cars and people,,,,too much fun. The driver was kind enough to fill us in some history. It seems across the bay there were 3 cities in a row, built by the Maltese people to fight off the Turkish invasion. Needless to say, the Turkish lost. Lol the cities were completely built in 5 years!! No easy feet I'd say. The rest of the day was spent lounging by the pool enjoying the scenery. Our next day was spent at sea. What does one do all day on a big ship in the middle of the Mediterranean??? Eat, drink, eat some more. Explore the ship and meet new people. Fun!!! Our next port was Athens Greece. For this port we did have a tour booked and we were up at 6 am. Now if you know me at all you know that a night of drinking doesn't usually keep me from carrying on the next day, but I think due to the lack of sleep and the heat I got hit with something that basically sent me back to the ship. But not after I climbed what seemed like 1000 steps. We were booked to go to Acropolus. That's were the Parthenon is in Athens. It's on top of the 2nd highest mountain in Athens!!!! What a climb and what a view. I will try to get some pics on FB. It was magnificent from up top. And to walk where you know ancient Greeks once did was mind blowing. Truly a humbling experience. I made my way back down the mountain being careful not to slip on the slick marble steps. I found Mark and he told me about his adventure. Since he couldn't do the climb he roamed around below us and found a little Greek cafe where he indulged in coffee and what else????? Baklava!!! He didn't even save me some :( the rest of the tour is where it all fell apart for me. We were bused around the city and the guide pointed out several important builds. All very beautiful and interesting. But we had a stop at the new arena and I opted to wait on the bust while Mark took pictures. BIG MISTAKE!!! I became very nauseous and had yo run off the bus. Breakfast was trying to come up, my face was redder then a tomato, and I was so freaking hot you could have cooked any egg on me. But thanks to my very smart husband and the cold cloth he brought I was saved the embarrassment of vomiting on the streets of Athens. Phew!!!!! Rather then carry on the 2 remaining hours we opted to return to the ship. Once back I had a nap, some lunch and I was back to being myself. Thank goodness!! We spent the remainder of the day just relaxing by the pool. When the ship was ready to leave port the wind had picked up. For the first tine it felt like you were on a ship. It rolled and rocked side to side and everyone walked like they had a few too many lol. After a few drinks, we were off to our cabin for a good night sleep. Next stop Mykonos!!!!!!!!!
