We haven't been that busy during our last few days in Sydney as we'd already managed to do all of the touristy things that we wanted to do, and the weather hasn't been amazing as it's going into the Australian autumn now (thank goodness we're heading north where it should be warmer!). After the lovely weather at the weekend it decided to rain on Monday, so we got a few boring things done like washing and then went to a cafe for lunch to wait for some better weather. Luckily the rain passed, so we went for a walk around Kings Cross and found a lovely little place called Rushcutter Bay only around 10 minutes away from our hotel in the opposite direction to the city. It had a little park by the water, and the bay was full of expensive looking boats so we had a nice walk around the area admiring all the expensive looking houses with harbour views which we could never afford! Yesterday the weather wasn't great either, more rain in the morning, but we had a nice evening to look forward to as we went out dinner with some people that we had met on our camping trip at Uluru, Olivia and Julia who are living in Sydney for the year. We started off with a nice thai meal in a restaurant down the road from our hotel, and followed that up with some delicious ice cream from Messina. I have never seen such a popular ice cream shop in my life, the queue was out the door at 9pm, and inside you had to fight your way to the counter! It was definitely worth the wait for the passionfruit ice cream, and sitting on some steps with a view of the city at night while eating ice cream was really nice too! We haven't done that much today either except pack up our bags ready for our early coach tomorrow up to Coffs Harbour, and buy some food to eat on the long journey, but the weather has sort of cleared for now so we had a quick walk in Embarkation Park to get some last views of the Harbour Bridge. We've really enjoyed our time in Sydney but it's now definitely time to move on and it will be good to (hopefully) have some better weather as we go north again. This is the start of our last real journey in Australia though, we've only got 5 and a half weeks left here before we fly to New Zealand so time is really seeming to fly by now, and we have so much left to do!
