Hi there,
and greetings from Kachemak Bay, Homer. We drove hier today and you know what, here is absolutely summerly, sunny and nice at this luxury wilderness camp. We had a water taxi taking us to this place and we could ony bring with us what we need for 2 days. So I have again warm clothes, but no shorts. T-shirts though. This will be a good finish of this tour after all the cold and rainy days. As the tour has been very much sitting in the van, I wanted to go for biking when we arrived here. There was a very tough rout down to Seldovia and me and Ola went on with mountain bikes for this. I have never driven such a mountain uphill-downhill road before, so it was quite challenging. But now after shower and dinner, luxury dinner with baked salmon all ready made and no dishes, I feel great although a little tired.
Yesterday night was quite short, while we were out to a bar and I woke up at 5 o'clock. We had an early start this morning, too. But yesterday we were on a Kenai Fjord National Park boat cruise, where we saw whales, sea otters, sea lions, puffins and bald eagles. And we also saw hughes glaciers and many other wonderful views. Did I already tell you that in Seward we had mountains 360 degrees around us. That was beautiful.
Tomorrow I go kayaking again. This time here at Kachemak Bay. Tomorrow is our last day of activity while on Saturday we will drive back to Anchorage and the tour ends there late in the afternoon. And on Sunday I will fly to Juneau, where I attend a very interesting Bear viewing tour kayaking to Admiralty Island and camping there for 2 nights.
Goodby from Kachemak Bay.
