Well the time is nearly up. The shuttle bus is booked for 7.30 tommorow morning to get me to the airport. I fly out at 11.30am and after about 40 hours of travelling I get to Glasgow on friday afternoon at about 2.30. I think I might be a bit shattered!!
I have been jumping on and off trams like I know what I am doing and have even been down theriver on a boat, I have been in many posh clothes shops and even managed to buy some. (In one department store there is a whole floor of clothes dedicated to size 14 and over) I have spent happy hours browsing in bookshops both new and second hand. I have been in wonderful old food markets and eaten at least four different varieties of peaches. I have tasted grapes like we have never had in the shops in the UK. I have been in the National Gallery of Victoria and the Ian Potter Centre where all the 20th Century Art is housed and I have gone back there a second time to absorb some of the wonderful colours and patterns of the Aboriginal Art. I have had endless cups of wonderful bitter Italian Coffee and had many meals out. I have also feasted on rye bread, cheese and fruit in my room in the Guest House. I have wandered around the Botanics in sunshine and in the rain and loved the strangeness of the unrecognisable plants and the noisy unkown birds.
I have said goodbye to Donna- it may be sometime before I see her again. Olivia and Tim are moving house this weekend so I sent some money for a gift- they are going to Ikea this weekend to kit it out!!- I put some dollars into a box at the art gallery collecting for the victims of the fire and counted my blessings!
Now it is time to come home.
