I'm not sure where I'm up to now ... Too many efes too many raki too many brandy sour!
Last night was eventful to say the least. Karaoke at the cabin , our home from home. We had only been there minutes when we noticed we had come to the attention if two very large Cypriot men in their fifties. The had a half full bottle if raki and a huge platter of chicken on their table, which once consumed wad followed by another bottle and a platter of helim. Then the chef brought out a bowl of small peaches, he the passed me two saying his friend ( the biggest and oldest wanted me to have them as a gift, I graciously declined , at this point vikki suggested I covered my larger peaches with my cardi!
At this point vikki and I logged onto Facebook to relay the tale which provoked a live auction and suggestions that if vikki was offered two goats and two peaches she should call it a deal.
When yar arrived I greeted him like he was my husband to ward off any more attention.
Today we went back to girne for some shopping, and of course coffee in the harbour. Wherever we go vikki is complimented on her Turkish. The waiter sitting behind us when she ordered commented to his colleague that ' she must have family'.
The table next to us was occupied by an old man and his daughter. When they had finished and told how much the drinks were he replied in Turkish that he wanted a discount, it had already been applied, what followed was a ten minute discussion on the price of things and the old man refused to pay, even handing his wallet to the waiter. In the end his daughter paid, his tone went from jovial and quaint to angry a d frustrated and in the end told his daughter to go... He sat, talking to himself about coloured water that had no flavour and how it was robbery, then he hot up to find his daughter. It was do funny at the start but my tears of stunted laughter turned to a small tear of sadness. How this the lovely scene of father and daughter enjoying the harbour Together could turn to an embarrassing argument.
We returned after dome shopping to our unreserved spot by the pool for a quick dip and here I will leave it until I have tales from tonight.
