I'm going to keep this brief as I need to check out of our hotel. Rob and I spent a few nights in the dirty, muggy, noisy, busy, cocky (but FANTASTIC) city in Bangokok, during which time I had a bug-eating contest with a great guy I met (Richard). I ate a water bug - a horrible looking insect about 3 inches long - big enough! Believe it or not, it tasted delicious - there's a lot to be said for soy sauce and a bit of chilli powder. Richard bottled out, so Rob ending up scoffing his bug for him! Waste not, want not as they say, and it did cost 10 baht after all (about 16p). What's more, Rob got the whole thing on video - bonus!!!
After a fantastic last night at the Bedsupper Club in Bangkok (see the photos albums in the right-hand menu), where I was given a business card from the owner for a possible DJ gig, we departed for Koh Chang, a large island just south of Bangkok. It was a good 5 hour bus drive to get here during which time we met 3 great couples - 1 from England, 1 from Wales (the guy looks like Indiana Jones - photos to follow!) and 1 from France. Rob and I spent the entire journey chatting in almost fluent French with the Parisian couple which was great fun. Our hotel is to die for, but we want to try and catch up with Jez (Indiana) who are further south...
Ciao for now!
