The most memorable part of our day yesterday was our tours of both the community of Libertad, here, where we are staying, and San Miguel, just down the Ucayali a few kilometers. The group of tourists at our lodge is a truly international one. An American from Las Vegas, here to do an ayahuasca ceremony, a Swiss woman, a Canadian couple from Ottawa, a Spanish woman and her Belgian partner, and two women working for NGOs in Peru, one from Italy and the other from Germany. Later, a man from New Zealand, an Englishwoman, and a couple from Monaco and France arrived!

A long-night's sleep was just right for us after all of the past two days' travels. As we headed out in our canoe to check out the day's wildlife, the cloudy skies suggested we might get more rain than forest today, which proved true after about 30 minutes.
