Started today with a coffee and a croissant and we booked our tour to Universal Studios.
We booked the tour with Starline and got picked up around the corner from where we are staying - at the Fairmont Hotel (very nice if you could afford to stay there....)
A quick ride along the 405 Freeway - reputedly to be the busiest freeway in the world - and we were there just befor e 10am.
We took in all of the shows including the Studio Tour - who said smoke and mirrors don't exist? - The tour is worth doing just for the amazing King Kong 3D spectacular - not for little kids that is for sure. We also saw the Special Effects show, Waterworld, The Blues Brothers and Terminator 2 in 3D as well as Schreck in 4D.
We had a ride on the Mummy ride but unfortunately for us the Jurrasic Park ride was closed. The best ride we had was the Simpson's ride - amazing just like riding a real roller coaster but you just sit in this carriage and the special effects just do the rest!!!
The Universal Studio tour is well worth it and has filled in a day for us.
Friendly enough people and the park is certainly kept tidy.
We are currently sitting in an Irish Pub in the Park as I write this.... so no complaints!!!
We will be picked up at 6pm tonight.
The trip home took over an hour and a quarter - the traffic around Hollywood and LA was just crazy!!!
Apparently Barbara Streisand played at the Hollywood Bowl last night.
Just had dinner at a place called Misfits - Nadeen said it was the best chicken she has ever eaten. Following dinner we called into a local Mexican bar that was serving 36oz Margaritas for $18 - guess who couldn't help themselves????
Just look at the photo for proof....
