Hei there!

I have had an amazing week! Here is a short summary: We went on Frasier Island for 2 days and did a drive around the island which was really cool. Frasier Island is a sand island, so the "roads" are deep sand and we almost got stuck several times. It was a very bumpy ride, but totally worth it. The best part was Lake McKensey (probably misspelled...). Also, we had a couple of gekkos in our lodge, they are so cute! Next to our place was a hotel with a pool that was open 24/7, so we went swimming in the middle of the night, really nice.

After Fraiser Island we drove to Rockhampton to attend a Rodeo. I did not expect to like it, but it was actually extremely cool!! The cowboys have like glittery, sprakling chaps on and the atmosphere was just great. It was also a good time to start wearing my new hat :)

The next day we drove to Arlie Beach and got on a sailing boat for 2 days. This, too, was awesome! We went snorkeling on a reef and I finally got to try my underwater case for the camera. I have to work out how to focus better, but other than that it worked just fine. At night, we slept on the deck of the boat under a great sky full of stars. The two days on the boat were over far too soon!!

Next day we drove to Undara where we went on a sunset safari trip and saw some kengurus and bats. quite cool! At a lookout we had champagne and cheese. That is the way evenings are suppposed to be spend! :) Pics from this will follow...

Now I am in Cairns and almost at the end of my trip already. We will go rafting tomorrow and then on friday I will start the liveaboard diving adventure and after that I will already fly home again... :(
