We had a nice breakfast at home - farm fresh scrambled eggs and bread, with cheese and sausage. After breakfast I went climbing for a couple of hours at a local gym. It was huge and I had an awesome time bouldering - it felt good to be on the wall after almost two weeks off.
I met Sebastian and Eva back at their apartment and we took a tour of Munich. They showed me so much of the city. The most notable was Asam Church (pictured) - it was the most ornate, beautiful thing I've ever seen. We walked about 13 or 14km, visiting most of the major areas
- Marienplatz, Town Hall, the English Garden, Nymphenburg Palace, the Munich Residence, and the main shopping district.
On our way to dinner we walked through the park and stopped at the bridge to see the surfers. The water must have been freezing - it was about 6 or 8 degrees outside - but they were still there riding the single man-made wave. It was such a cool attraction for a city!
For dinner we stopped at a local favourite restaurant (there were zero tourists there) and I had schnitzel with lingonberry sauce (similar to cranberry sauce but more subtle). It was delicious! I tried Eva's spätzle with cheese and fried onions, which was also amazing!
We walked back home and hung out for a bit. Sebastian and I played a game of Blokus, and then he taught me the basics of Go, which I found very challenging.
