Well after 32 hours travelling, a serious overdose on travel sickness tablets, and about 10 minutes sleep I arrived in the wonderful of city.On arrival I got the shuttle bus to my hosteland crashed straight into bed for a great nights sleep. The next day I woke up early, excited to do some exploring of the city and got a bit too excited when I saw the Sydney harbor bridge and decided to do the bridge climb that day because of the beautiful weather.I was really lucky as the groups consisted of 12 people but my group consisted of myself, the instructor Chris, a guy Chris and his Dad both from England (Three Chris's got a bit confusing at times). It was like a VIP tour and we had a 3 hour walk over the entire bridge with plenty of photos taken of us and information given by our tour guide all the way round. It definitely started my travelling off well! After this I took a walk to the opera house and the gorgeous free botanical gardens.Throughout the gardens there was lots of bats hanging in the trees and spiders hanging everywhere and weird shaped birds pecking about.I stopped to go to the loo and after a tip of from someone already been I checked under the toilet seat for any of the not so little monsters!I was having such a great time walking I kept going until I came out the other side and I walked to MRs Macquires point which is the furthest point out from the land and where all the postcard shots are taken as you can see both the harbor bridge and opera house.I watched the sun set and then decided to start walking back as its Winter here and the nights draw in quicker. However when I got back to the botanical gardens they had shut all the gates!I had to take a detour around the whole of the outside in the pitch dark and the cute bats I saw earlier were flying over head in swarms! It was such a site, imagine the pigeons that used to be at Trafalger square but with bats!Heading back into the city I some how got lost again for another hour and ½ (god knows how) and was so relieved to finally find the corner shop which had ripped me off earlier ( $10.20 for a loaf of bread, an apple, a banana and some water!!!!).Getting back into the hostel I was pretty tired but I met a new guy in our room called Jim.We went down to the Scary Canary the bar next door and had a great time meeting travelers, drinking and dancing.Drink isn't cheap though so not sure I will be doing that often.I met a lovely girl from Holland who went up to Brisbane the next day so I might see her up there.Today I got up and had to buy a new camera because my one broke yesterday and I didn't want to miss the picturesque Blue Mountains which I have booked on for a tour tomorrow.I I looked around Darling harbour and the Rocks (Which used to be a slum but has now been transformed to an expensive shopping and cafe area with shops like louis vuitton) then went up the viewing tower to look over Sydney before relaxing back in the botanical gardens. As it's a Sunday evening nothing much is happening in our hostel.I'm going to pack up after this as I have a 6.30 start tomorrow to check out and pick up my tour bus to the blue mountains then in the evening getting on the greyhound bus to my next destination - Byron bay.
