Hey,
Havent had much time on the net since we've been travelling and ive probably been hungover or tired or something so now is my chnace to catch up on whats been happening. Since the last post it was new years eve, that morning we woke up around 5am to see the Angkor Wat temple, apparently it is meant to look very impressive in sunrise and sunset so we thought we would nail all the temples in one day as over 3 days it can get very tiresome. We arrived at the temple and we couldnt see much as it was so dark but as the sun rose you could see it was very impressive although the sunrise was poor as it was very cloudy that day. We walked around the whole temple that took around an hour and then we went to 3 more different types of temples within the grounds of this place, it is massive as we had to hire a tuk-tuk guy to take us to each one as the ground was around 500 sq kilometres. The other 3 temples were cool each one different, i think one of the tour people said the tombraider films were set here as you could tell it in a few of them it looked like a good movie set. Anyway we had to stay out all day which was hard as we were up so early but wanted to catch the Angkor wat temple for sunset we eventually got back to the templet by 5:30 and watched the sunset in, it was ok not as good as i was expecting as it was again very cloudy. Then we went for some food and headed back home for a nap as we were knackered and wanted to get our rest for new years eve. We didnt wake up until 8:30ish so we got ready and went out to see what was on in Siem Reap. When we got there we were amazed to see how busy it was as there was just a mass of people all in this one street called pub street, we werent expecting much really as it wasnt busy all week and there wasnt many people around our age but tonight everyone must have either arrived for it or just come out for New Years night. Well the music was bouncing and everyone was dancing in the street, it was such a good atmosphere, there were street sellers selling beer, it was only 50c but we were so sick of drinking it we went to the supermarket bought a bottle of vodka and redbull and started drinking that in the street (Classy I know) but it did the trick i was leathered and hardly spent a penny and the party didnt finish till way in till the early hours so the next day was written off as hangover day where we slept all day and didnt do anything really apart from going to a few markets and stuff. So then our next stop was going to be 6 hours south of Cambodia to the capital Phenom Penh.
